  • B5.5 Wagon Inspiration?

I'm picking up an '03 Passat GLS 1.8LT tomorrow and I'm having trouble finding inspiration on how to make this car mine. I've been a Honda owner for 4 years so honestly I don't even know where to start.
Post your tips and favorite B5 wagons!

Here's mine to reference a starting spot.

My list of future mods is as such:
HIDs (fog replacement 6ks because personally I think HIDs can be douchey when they're blinding everyone)
APEX 1.5" lowering springs (Until I pick out a nice set of coilovers or find a deal on bags)
Muffler (I need to pick one. I put a $20 Cherry Bomb on my Civic and it actually sounded great, so I might even look for another.)
    Tint
Badgeless grill (I'm assuming you can DIY that but more info would be appreciated)
Wheels (I saw some beautiful Bentley ones so that is in mind, or I heard that Porsche wheels bolt on)
Headlight/Tail lights (Projectors or maybe just smoke them)

I'm waiting to do performance parts until later because its a 1.8L wagon, I'm not going to the track just yet; but then I'm doing the following:
    Full exhaust
Largest turbo I can fit while still being functional
    Intake
    New intercooler (if needed)
    Injectors
    Fuel Pump
    Boost Gauge
    Boost Controller
    ECU flash
    Turbo Timer (maybe)

Not that hard, just lower it and buy some nice wheels

I really like the stock yellow like in the picture below. I think yellow, on white wheels, with dark tint might look rad but I really want suggestions before I create a clown car.

That's what I'm shooting for but I don't know where to start!
It's much easier to hear from people what did and didn't work for them. I'm a car guy, but stance goes way over my head.

They actually have a "post your wagon" thread im about 100 pages deep into, oops!

Also are there any "how to stance your car" threads? I imagined they would be sticked but I didn't see any.

Big fat ass TH Lines+coilovers = end of this thread.

Take this to the intro section bro, this is the showroom and is mainly for posting pics of somewhat finished cars. Did you not happen to notice that no one else was just posting bone stock cars along with their wish list of mods? **** to say it but If you need a "how to stance your car" diy, you should probably just leave it stock. If you do want to continue down this road then your just going to have to do your homework and SEARCH just like everyone else around here has done. Sorry for the harsh reality check but someone had to say it.

It's hard to "do your homework" with no book but thanks for letting me in on "the harsh reality" I'm a car guy not a stance guy yet. You have to forgive me they didn't teach stance in any of my three years of autoshop. We all start somewhere.

Im not a Passat guy in any way but i have two buddies who own one (B5 and 5.5).

17s are too small in diameter on this car. Best choice is 18s or 19s. You can easily pull off 8s in width but i'd definitely look into something wider. 9s and 10x18s would my choice i guess if i wanted to stance a wagon. I can't tell you which offsets are best though.

Also do some research on how to add camber. It doesnt have to be too crazy but 2-4 degress always help to fit wide wheel/tire combos

Also skip the springs as well as the badgeless grille

Porsche wheels dont bolt on directly (5x130) but can be fitted with adapters 5x112->5x130.

Allright, I'm going to first apologize for being so harsh with my last post, I was having an absolutely awful day and you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time I guess.

Still sticking to the fact that this is in the wrong section but we'll just write it off as a rookie mistake.

I agree 100% with the advice G5 has given you. 18x9-10 inch wheels with offsets in the +35 range and some coilovers "not springs" is really all you will need to get this thing looking sexy. ST coilovers seem to be great starter coilovers and as I said before TH Lines and Passats are a match made in heaven.
When I say "do your homework I'm talking about digging up a few cars that you would like to model your car after and then finding all of the info you can about them. Google images is a great place to start. Type in key words like "Passat stance" "Passat TH Line" "Passat coilovers" then just click on the link of the pic you are digging and read away.
Hope this helps and makes up for my rudeness a bit, good luck man and welcome to SW.

PS, don't ever says "stanced" if you want to fit in around here, shit just ain't right.

Shit! I'm not the only one that loves that combination. Go for it!
Hatchbacks, wagons... It's NOT all the same. You want in? Don't get a mazda 3, get a mazda 6 wagon. Don't get a wrx get a legacy wagon. and theres a reason the A3 isn't called the A3 avant... Scion does not make a wagon it makes a weird van, but no wagons

                              Sincerely,

P.S. Is your tail a wagon?
