  • Progress of my mk5 GTI

Hello all. Just showing the couple different stages my car went through over the last year. It's nothing too intense. Couple different suspension and wheel set ups.

Summer 2012: FK SilverLine X+ coilovers and Work Emotion 11Rs
    [IMG][/IMG]

After H2Oi 2012: same coils, then Fifteen52 Tarmacs
    [IMG][/IMG]
    [IMG][/IMG]

Fall 2012: Sold the Tarmacs and picked up some stock Huffs and sold my oem Denvers
    [IMG][/IMG]

Summer 2013: After much wheel-whoring, finally picked up my current set up, same coils, just now with some staggered 3 piece Volk VR-Xs.

The second and final set-up are the best ones...loving the lows! running that low static is admirable, looks fresh man!

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping to rebuild and refinish my wheels for next yeah. Possibly get a hold of memory fab to make me new lips, along with powder coating the faces and cleaning up the hardware. I have a lot of plans for the car, Its just a matter of waiting for the financial ability to pull it all together.

the 11R's were awesome! Such a cool wheel that's not appreciated as I feel it should be.
            All setups look good.

I agree. The 11Rs were awesome in color and in design, on top of only weight 17lbs. Not bad for 18s. However, they were only 7.5" wide and the offsets were et47. So they didn't give me the actual fitment I wanted. I didn't have any pictures of my car with it on the koni coils, or when it was just on springs with 17x8.5 et30 RPF1s with a super meaty stretch. I've changed the front end a couple times too. But mainly it's the wheels that are always changing. I'd like to go air for the convenience of it. And I think I've already earned my static low badge.

Looks great Nick. You know I liked the Tarmacs the best. Remember that time you came out to IUP? Everyone was like hnggggg, haha.

                    What IC are you running?
                    Looks mean
You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You know where you hope the train will take you, but you can't be sure.

Thanks guys. Yeah Kyle I miss the tarmacs. Almost bought another set with lower offsets not too long ago. But I really wanted wheels with a lip. Mainly staggered lips.

As for the intercooler, that's the Forge Motorsport TWINtercooler. I run that with several other random bolt-ons along with the APR 93oct stage 2 software. It's not the fastest car on the planet, but it's fast enough with how my low and fitment is set up.

Your current set up is by far and above my favorite setup. 17's are really the only way to go truly static low with a mkv's mine on 17s....

I think I am just under 22.5" FTG and man is it sketchy at times and it looks like you might be lower than that.

Thanks man!! I'm pretty sure you wanted my old staggered 3pc OZ Mito IIIs in exchange for some other wheels. I remember your car. I love the new wheels on it and the R front end. I think my FTGs are actually 22.5 front and 21.75 rear. My car has no rear interior or spare tire though. I think I might install the perches and put my seats back in. But who knows? I'm too lazy for that.
