  • LowDownUnder - Gemini/Chevette/KadettC

    Hi Guys,
Been browsing for a while. Thought I'd throw it up.

1976 Holden Gemini - Australian Version of the Vauxhall Chevette/Opel Kadett C

Pretty stock. 1.6L SOHC. Decked. 13x7 +12 hotwires. 155/65 tyres.

Have tried a bit of Cali/Euro inspiration, which is pretty rare in Aus, not many folks 'get' the stance movement. Needs stiffer springs and probably needs bigger wheels since I can't get 3 fingers under the crossmember. Will also throw a locked diff in it soon and hit the skidpan. Only other plans are to put a sunshade over the front windscreen and maybe put a front lip on it.

Let me know what you think or if you have improvement ideas.

    Sucks to roll hard.

Think my crossmember is bent. And that's the original isuzu key leaning on the crossmember.

And some new stickers to blend in around my upside-down-registration-sticker business.

Not much has changed. I'm the 3rd owner and bought it like this.

It just has severly lowered springs, wheels, replaced guards with ones that weren't full of metal-cancer, fixed up the brakes and dumped a different motor in. Oh also put in some very 70s seat covers and a gutter-mount radio aerial so the original AM radio has tunes.

DUDE! How do you get away with that haha, the cops would love you. We have to go for a photoshoot some time. I know what you mean about having no scene in Australia, it sucks, wish there were meets and events, but there is nothing .

                    Thanks guys.

Yeh Midduke, next time you're down in Bris, hit me up via PM or on MSN.

Oh and this clunker owes me less than $2k, she's a bargain piece of stance.

I don't really. It's only been this low for about 3 weeks, and I've only passed 4 cop cars. All the guys at work (Autobarn) are taking bets as to when I get a ticket. Then again I only drive it to and from work (6KMs).

                        fellow stanced autobarn member, mad!!

looks damn sweet, not often you see a neat looking gemini, most are rusty old poo buckets around here.

It still surprises me how many Aussies are on here... And how many user names or cars i recognize from other forums...

Love the vintage look on the photos too... I should try that some time...
