Been lurking for quite some time, figured I should finally participate and felt like an introduction was in order. My name is Matt, I'm 29 and live in Pennsylvania. Been around Volkswagens pretty much my entire life, the obsession really took hold when I was in high school. My first car was a 1984 Jetta (wish I knew what happened to the pictures of it) which had about every part available in the Neuspeed catalog at the time haha. My senior year I purchased my first Mk3, a '97 Jetta from the dealer, certified pre-owned with 50k on it. It went through various stages before I sold it in 2005.

After selling the Jetta, I drove a '91 Jetta I picked up for $300 for a year before purchasing a 2002 GTI 1.8t, again from the dealer, certified pre-owned with 60k on the clock. This car went through a drastic change in 2007/2008 and came out of the body shop like this;

After a while I grew tired of the look and wanted to go the more OEM+ route so I swapped the Votex Jetta front for an OEM R front and traded the rear boser setup for a stock hatch and tails.

My interest in the car was fading and I missed being in a Mk3 so I sold the car off and picked up my first VR6.

For some incredibly dumb reason, I felt like I needed another Jetta and took a bath on the GTI by trading it for a '99 GLX with no rust, lower mileage and the only modification was an H&R cup kit. I quickly got to work on it:

Again, I got bored with the car and wanted to build a Mk1 Rabbit. I found a clean bodied Rabbit on Craigslist that was completely stripped for autocross but was a good foundation for a clean build, traded the Jetta for the Rabbit and a stack of Benjamin's and got to work on the bunny:

Meanwhile, I got a call from an ex-girlfriend asking if I wanted her Mk4 Jetta GLX for free. Yes, I said free! She couldn't afford to fix it, I'm a certified VW tech, worked out perfectly. The car cost me $360 in parts and I had a solid daily.

The Rabbit want into storage for the winter and again, after finishing it, I was bored so I traded it for a 1986 Jetta GLI, VR Swap, straight pipe, pure sex.

After a year with the Mk4 Jetta as a daily I worked out a deal to trade it straight up for a B5 A4... No brainer. When I picked up the car it was a little rough but it wasn't anything I couldn't easily remedy.

After a little bit of suspension and paint

If you haven't figured it out yet, I get bored easily, so I setup another trade and picked up a clean '96 GTI VR6 to satisfy my VR addiction. I won't post a bunch of pics of it as I will do a full build thread on it soon. Here is how it sits right now.

Thanks all for now, sorry for the long ass post.
