I think 16s are best for e30, 17s for e36, 18s for e46, etc. I prefer narrower 16s (no poke) with nice-sized tires, looking like they're all stuffed in the wheel wells.

    195/50s look great imo on a 16x8 or 16x8.5
Actually now thinking back - I think the front tires on my dakar in that one pic before I sold BBS were thick 205/50 Bridgestones. So def fit - didn't rub really at all. BEEF

^this guy knows what's up. For now you just need some beefier tires, like some 205/50's. then down the road widen them if you want.

Here is my 95 Dakar on BBS RS 211 16x8 et11 w 215/45/16 DZ101s. Fit well, didn't rub much (rolled and lil pull in back).

I had smaller lips and barrels (16x7 et+11), but the fronts are now 16x8.5 et-8, rears are 16x9.5 et+4 i believe.

I think poke looks like garbage most times. Evil pandas car is my "inspiration" i thought he was on 17s but now i know. Definitely the best looking on 16s by far imo.

^ those fronts cry out for bigger lips. I still think the poke is necessary to make it work on 16. both these cars are static that i've posted.
