The guys and gals over at Fortune Auto (www.fortune-auto.net) are best known for building high-performance coilovers for the street and track right here in the USA, but when it comes time to test their products, they aren't shy about building their own cars. Several Evos in all levels of street and full race trim, rare JDM cars, 2jz swapped FD, 240's, M5, you name it.
Well when the owner of Fortune Auto found a mint 1972 Mercedes-Benz 220 virtually down the street from the shop for sale he knew he had to have it. Fortune obviously doesn't build coilovers for '72 Benz's, but it didn't take long for them to start cutting, welding, and fabbing up a custom set just to say they did it. And I believe the finished product is quite nice. They aren't completely done with it though, so keep up on their blog for more progress to this German sled.
