In addition to my wife's Jetta and my vert, we've had this 2002 Ram 1500 2wd for the past 6 years. Within weeks of owning it, it was lifted with a 7" CST spindle/spring/block lift kit. I've always raced dirt bikes, so I thought it would be cool to get some black Moto Metal wheels with 35"s. Wrong. Every redneck and bro went on to buy those wheels and lately they've really dated the truck.
I've always had ideas of going with 37s and custom wheels, but a recent ball joint failure took out a tire and forced my hand. I found what seems to be one of the only wheel companies building 18" and 20" steel wheels for rockcrawlers.
These are 18x11 et-12 with 37"x14". It takes up every bit of space I have and I'm even having to do some fender and bumper trimming to do anything other than mall crawling. I couldn't be happier though!
The 4.56 gears seem to handle the extra weight and size fine. The biggest thing is that I'll never see another truck with this setup.
