    The inner workings were pretty complicated, even to take apart. I just like to tinker and see how it works from the inside, and since it was damaged and I have another 80-200 2.8 on the way to the house, it seemed like the perfect time.

    Not at all. It was a great time, it gave me a reason to drink beer, and the lense was all sorts of fuxored already.

    My focusing gears locked up on the lense, I was drunk, I have more gear getting shipped to me on Monday, seemed like a good idea. I am sure a lot of people dismantle an 80-200 2.8 lense to see what the problem is knowing full well they have no clue how to fix it.
