Havent posted here in awhile.

I sold the GTI and wanted to get a 4 door so I got a Jetta GLI

Nothing major, initially just transferred the wheels and suspension.

nice. the rear suspension on the MK6 GLI is the same as the MK5? I heard the lower model MK6 jettas have beams in the rear.

Yeah every model but the GLI gets the rear beam, thats why I got it. It has the same suspension as a mk5

Would have loved to get a TDI.

Some people have swapped the rear suspension but I didnt want to go through the trouble.

yes, GLIs and a few top-end non-GLIs still have independent rear. The independent rear just bolts up to new Jettas, so its an easy retrofit.

Car looks good AJ. I like the gold on the red.

I asked the dealer and only gli's and jsw's are the jettas that have independent rear

Even the top of the line sel, sel tdi or hybrids dont get it.

It was early in the mk6 model run that I heard you could get independent rear on some higher models, but not sure if it was true or how many came that way.
