Once it gets into the body shop I'll fix whatever rust it has and replace the US front bumper on it now. After that I suppose I'll bring the interior and wood back up to par, plus at some point I'd like to see how my gold 16x10 BBS RS fit underneath it.
I like the sound of this!

That's the plan eventually, it's the only way. I want to do several things before I jump into that though.. I do have 3 other cars that need addressing. But this thing will be a 'collector plate' car and I'll love every second of it, even if it doesn't drive. I'd love to get some nice period-correct AMG 3-piece wheels and nardi wood steering wheel too. For now I think I'll cut the springs and rock adapters + beefy 16" RS though.

It's actually a 500SEL, badge is wrong on the back for some reason. However, it's much nicer than I anticipated!

Very interested to see where you take this project. I have a 560sel sitting in my garage that I will be working on over the winter. Gotta get ride of the self leveling suspension, then cut a few coils off as well.

This one is in mighty fine shape!

I was going to say that you just snagged a rocketship. Eurospec 5.6 m117 motors are insane compared to us spec. But even a euro 5.0 has more usable power than a us 5.6. I used to have the same BBS's on my W123. Bag the shit outta that thing.

LOL, I worked at Mercedes/Volvo/Aston/Lotus dealership tuning wrenches i say about 3 years ago...nothing scared me more than old Mercs, especially 107's and if poor ghetto rap dudes owned them, they were the worst. Even the ones that could afford the newer (early 2000's) Mercs, somehow they knew exactly how to fuck'em up 4-5 times what the car was worth. " but they be ridin on twenty foes, candy paint drippin, pop trunk, screens on" Im glad your is in ok running order, when you said it sat for a while, i was almost about to facepalm. That ride you got is so fucking BOSS, cant wait to see it on bags.

                          Are you gonna bag it?
Please keep this updated because i'm very curious to know how you gonna fix those problems according to lowering this car. As you may know it isnt as easy as you think.

Well not really, as far as I know I just need to cut the springs 2 coils in front and go from there.

I'd like to bag it in the future, but not after it's sound otherwise and 'ready' to be modded hard like that. Tonight I'm researching timing chain parts resources and a vacuum diagram for a Euro M117. I wish I could be shopping for fun stuff but that's what I get for spending so little on the car.
