  • Vintage Beetle Deserves A TRUE Vintage Photoshoot

Since having my dslr camera and gear stolen about a month ago, I've been forced to shoot strictly film. That hasn't stop me from making the most of the circumstances and came up with this idea.

I decided to meet up with a good friend to shoot his 66' Volkswagen Beetle with my 1940's Argus C3 film camera.

My intentions were to not only showcase the car, but more importantly place it in a setting that would take you back in time and really put the car in the past, as if you were looking through your parents photo book and saw these from when they were young.

I hope you all can really appreciate this shoot and my vision. Some may not fully understand my intentions and will just see things for what they are - low quality photos with a beat up beetle. That's okay, this isn't for everyone, but as a photographer I got the exact results I was going for, and couldn't be happier.

**These photos are straight from the camera and were not edited AT ALL. That's the magic of film and shooting with a camera from the 40's,

    thanks guys.
    Justin

The camera for those who are curious (The exact model seen in the Harry Potter movies)

love that you shot with film, it just brings out a quality and feel which suits the car perfectly. I think more photoshoots like this need to happen

I am going to try to do it more often, but shooting with the right car would be key to me. Everyone wants to shoot with nice cameras and make things 'look' vintage anyways.. defeats the purpose of the technology.

It was my favorite of the series as well. If I got that shot and no others I still would have considered the shoot a success haha.

First 2 and last 2 are superb, real nice composition, focus and consideration within them. The Film/Camera compliments it too, love the colour casting of the film what was it?

Kudos for shooting film. It's good to see others in the car scene still appreciating what once was.
Although, for what it's worth, I strongly disagree with "straight out of the camera and not edited at all is the magic of film."
