So I planned to get through these pics and post this thread up a while ago, but I didn't have time to get to it till now.
Nevertheless, on the weekend of November 10th, we were fortunate enough to be a supporting sponsor of one of the coolest automotive events ever - Shift S3ctor's 2nd Airstrip Attack at Coalinga Municipal Airport!

The guys from Shift S3ctor really have it down - offering different forms of racing for cars with some serious power! We sponsored their last event at Streets of Willow a few months ago, which was lots of fun, and ran seemlessly. The guys from Shift S3ctor, are true car enthusiasts, from all walks of life, and are really a blast to hang around with. If you haven't heard of Shift S3ctor before, I highly recommend everyone to check them out!
Okay, onto to the pics and a brief story about our trip!
First, I personally had a blast at the event, being able to drive our E30 over 140 mph, hanging out with a bunch of awesome car enthusiasts, watch some of the fastest cars in the country go at it head-to-head, and finally, getting some more great practice with my photography!
So we worked on Sebo's S50 swapped, turbo E30 sedan for the past few months, in order to have it ready for this event. While we knew we would would be one of the slower, and one of the oldest cars at this event, we still wanted to show all the big boys what our little E30 could do!
Here's a link to Sebo's build thread, which I just posted for everyone's reference:
Having recently purchased our Mustang Dyno from Miller Performance, and partnering up with such a great tuner, we figured this was the perfect car to showcase our joint efforts on a build. While we were already well aware of Dan Miller's tuning abilities and the quality of Miller Performance's products, they continued to impress us with this project. The Miller blo-thru, 60# injector tuning package with the W.A.R chip makes life so easyfor the M/S5X FI community, especially when coupled with custom in -house dyno tunes by Dan-the-Man Miller!
Unfortunately we couldn't really show up with Sebo's E30 at it's full potential, as it isn't exactly suited for 430+whp/400+wtq. Consequently, we had Dan turn the boost down to 10 psi, and pull some timing to make the car a bit more driveable with the undersized 215/45/16 tires out back. We didn't officially dyno the car on the 10 psi tune as Dan already had a good file that he could work off of, which was verified with a few minor adjustments on the street. We guestimate the car was at, and currently remains at, no more then 360whp/350wtq for the event. While the long 2.79 final drive gearing, coupled with the ZF320 transmission helped make the car more streetable and ideal for the speeds we were racing for at the event, it still takes a bit of practice to keep the car in control from 2nd gear at 50mph...
Anyway, we left from our shop in North Hollywood at 7:30 PM for our journey to Coalinga, CA. The drive took us about 3.5 hours, with a quick stop in Gorman, where we got dusted with some unexpected snow!
Here we are filling up gas in Gorman, due to some "spirited" driving. Sebo was simply trying to get used to his all new E30, which now had almost triple the power of the original 2.7 eta M20B25...
Jump to Saturday morning after breakfast, as we warm-up Sebo's beast in the Best Western parking lot, before leaving for the day's festivities.

After a quick 15 minute drive, we got in line with other amazing cars waiting to get into the event. Lots of modified Nissan GTRs, HPF Turbo E46 M3s, modified Porsche 996 and 997 Turbos, crazy C5 and C6 Corvettes, etc. I've never been in the presence of so many high-powered, well built cars in my life!
