Unfortunately we're a bit late to the draw - we love the idea but the time-frame is a bit short with no preparation on our end. Admittedly, the idea has slipped our mind, we've been busy here at the SW Compound.

We'll see if we can't come up with something, but unfortunately we may have to save it for next year!

Well for one, a lot of the cars that I feel are worthy don't have a build thread but unthinkable best build thread is something nice.

The odds of this happening are slim but it would be awesome

there are many cars in the build section that do not get updated frequently. its too easy to have a worthy car slip your mind because its not at the first 3 pages. that would be another issue to address, in my opinion.

yeah, its my fault for not bringing it up to you Mike sooner. We all had a discussion last year, and I had the thought about 2 months ago, but I never spoke to anyone about it since. I agree, its getting far too close to make something legit, but it would be something to gather some thoughts on..

random thoughts:
i agree, build threads are important to this.
-best wheels
-best categories for euro/jap, etc
-award for keeping ahead of "the trend" would be a big one in my book. I **** seeing people up for stuff when they did the same crap as 10 people before them...

With this said, I would love to see this focused on people doing what they love, and happening to get response as a result of it. In my case personally, I dont build cars for other peoples approval. I build them to test my abilities, learn from them, and push the boundaries.. And as a result, I happened to stumble upon a large response. Never intended though.

I know we (Ben, Mike, myself, and a few others) all spoke about the documentary series for car builders and their craft. I think this really should be the focus for the new year, possibly rather then winning something to finish the year off.

I would love to see the spotlight once a month starting Jan 2013 of a builder spotlight and his craft... It would definitely be an honor to be able to show people the inner workings of what happens in all of our garages late at night.

Yeah, I should have specified. I was thinking categories would be for this year since there's no ride of the month, but the ride of the month would give finalists for the year if we started this for 2013.

Categories for this year if it were to happen, but Ride of the Month is better, but we have to start that in 2013.

Can we make it so nominations can only be of people who have a build thread on StanceWorks? I think that'd really keep it inside the community, and truly make it a StanceWorks Car of the Year.
