So... are we going to have a SW car of the year?

Its getting to be that time of year where everyone has their runnings for "car of the year"

We spoke about this last year, but I think it should definitely be something on the agenda. sponsors, prizes, could be a quite fun thing to organize on a short notice

i think it would be cool to have a ride of the month voted on by forum members which would then be finalists for ride of the year.

as for now, i say we have open nominations. No one nominates themselves and every nomination needs a second.

I also think we shouldn't discriminate against the photographically challenged for the nominations. If a nominated car only has cell phone pictures, then someone should give it a decent shoot before the final voting.

I think a build is a must. A lot of people don't really do much on here other than post the same showroom thread that they do on 4 other forums.

I like that, it kinda goes hand in hand with my thought process about cell phone pictures. While I don't think I'll be nominated, I don't post my car in the showroom because i only have the cell pics. I post most of my pictures in my build thread and I feel like no one cares. It would be good to showcase a build and not just perfect pictures. I also feel like the story should matter, that's why i chose my nomination.

the more complicated the process gets, the less likely it'll get done in my experience

if i were setting it up, this is how i would it
1. you can't nominate your own car
2. no more than 25 total nominated cars
3. stance|works overlords filter the nominations to keep the number of cars within the max
4. winner gets a custom avatar or signature or something unless sponsors want to get involved.
