man, your mk2 looks like it has been the free hooker for your local vw crew LOL

Please goto the yard and grab any mk2 aero grill, and even if all the tabs are broken, zip tie it on and the car will already look a lot better.
edit: you got the grill! nice.

    like the steelies!

      hey so update
      actually i did nothing
but god decided the car would look better without a rearview mirror, so he put an invisible bump and removed it for me
i like it, but driving without that mirror is so weird
ima keep it off unless i get pulled, but keep it with me so i can be like ooh im so sorry officer it just fell off

        sorry about that peoples
I didnt mean to offend you, man. Sorry about that.

First thing i'd start with is put a grill in instead of rocking a zip tied VW badge. Next would be taking car of the faded flares. A heatgun works pretty good from what ive heard. I used shoe shine on my lip though. Same goes for the bumpers.

Personally i'd remove the antenna ball and aftermarket fog lights, but its your car and style so what do i know. At least tuck those wires somwhere please.
Also, whats goin on with the black stripe on the side? Is it left over adhesive from the rubstrips?

I'd also take care of the crack metal sheet under the front bumper and the rust bubbling through on the passenger's door.

Polished up wheel caps wouldnt look bad either.

I dont mean everybody should do a full restoration and i'd never troll people because they have less money to dump into their cars than others.

At last i'd like to say that my car looked nothing like it looks now when i bought it. I changed, replaced, restored or added almost anything you can see.

youre good man, i think i was drunk when i wrote that, i know what you mean, with the grill, i honestly didnt want to cut the tabs of my brand new grill, because the front end is warped to where they dont fit, but i decided that it only cost me $10 so after exams when i go home im putting the grill on.
i have heat gunned the flares, but it has been a while, and it does fade, ill do that over winter break too
as for the fogs i got them because the headlights blow, but being that i got them at harbor freight they also blow, they are gone now
wheels havnt been cleaned since i bought them, i think im going to paint them and then try to get some old baby moon beetle caps to polish, since these are already pretty dented
the black lines are where i painted over the old adhesive, because it wouldnt come off, i plan on bringing those lines all the way to the flares and buffing the paint again

i didnt mean to attack you either man your corrado is nice, sorry

No need for apoligies, i should have explained my comment right away.
Thanks man. I didnt realize at first that you put that much work into car already. Good to know now

Try that liquid shoe shine stuff. If used it on the flares my buddy's mk3 GTI which tend to fade similarly. You probably have to repeat it a few times until the plastic is all saturated.

Have you though about a respray? You can get excellent results at home with single stage paint and some knowledge. Flat red looks really good too and has a nice vintage touch. It's also cheap and even easier to do at home.

You might know this car. I think it looks fine

You could also respray just the lower part of the doors using can spray paint and matte clear.

yea ive had it for a while, i just didnt think it belonged here till i realized my frame is actually low, until now i would always looka at it and think it was too high but with the new 13s i think its down enough

as far as a full respray im not a huge fan of taking away original paint, i did my bmw in the back yard, and learned a lot, i would like to try again just not on this car, if it had been resprayed before i would be down all day, i have buffed it before and it brings back the shine like it was new, i just need to be better about keeping up with it

i may redo the bottom of the doors, but it would have to be a perfect match, the rust spots all have neutralizer and clear on them now so im not too worried about spreading
