What does this mean? I didn't see in the first post where you mentioned which struts you went with. What did you use?

We were trying to be first but an E24 popped up in New Jersey about 2 weeks before we got ours done (should be somewhere here on SW). As for the struts, we went with Air Lift universals, took a bit of fab work but the sway bar and ABS are attached and functional.

I'm bringing this back from the dead with some updated pictures and to brag that after a long and unsuccessful first show season I finally took home a trophy!
Best European at Importmeet.com and VLEDs After Dark Car Show
Now I still have the 16x8 ICW Hammaz but I caved and picked up a set of 17x8 Style 5s.... Definitely worth it imo but I do feel a bit sold out, if the ICW's were 17s it wouldn't even have come up but the new shoes fill the wheel wells so much better!
            Aaaaaand eye candy time!

Wheels are still meh....but how come the front bumper is sticking out so far? They come tucked looking from factory.

It's an 86 but its running front and rear off of an 88, slightly different but non-euro :/ so super poke.
The wheel debate has been a weekly struggle at the shop and among friends as to what would be a solid answer but I am trying to stick with OEM plus and since they are technically and BMW optioned wheel it seemed like a good place to go for now.

Love the old wheels... perfect period-correct look. Chrome wheels, chrome trim, and even the high offset. It just works. Style 5s aren't doing it.

The red and gold work so much better together. Even if style 5's are the most used wheel in the BMW community. Hope to see it at Leavenworth-Drive 2014 (only Washington even I can make this coming season).

Ah I see, I guess the non ellipsoid headlights should've given that away. Ive always wanted to see someone put the world bumpers on an older 6er. Looks good, you should tuck them though, will look alot better I think. And ya I should be at leavenworth 2014 aswell

I really like the first set of wheels (hellasunk), but the style 5s are probably a more flattering choice. I love e24s and this a good example of one!

I had work I couldn't leave this year so I didn't get to go but 2014 is going to be a blast!

This is the source of the new standard for low haha, it took 6 months to burn off the flooring that was stuck on the exhaust

The headlights are definitely on the do-to list, the factory set up is garbage good thing winter is coming, lock myself in the shop and put in some work!

Me too! I plan on holding onto them since as far as i can tell they are the only BMW spec set in the US. Glad you like the car, can't wait to see what winter brings!

I didn't realize there was a competition to have the US's first bagged e24...

Anyway, the new wheels look great man. If you go for ellipsoid headlights, I suggest fitting some HIDs into them. The general consensus on bigcoupe.com and bf.c's e24 section is that the best lighting option is non-sealed beam H1s/H4s.
