A few weeks ago I sold my S52 E30. (This one). It was an amazingly fun car. But with a 3 month old son, it was a bit on the small side. Yes the infant seat fit...but it was tight.
So, since I had previously convinced the wife twice in the past to sell her DD so that I could buy an E30...I figured it was time for me to reciprocate. E30...gone! Don't worry, I still have my M52 powered E30 track car.
The search began for a 2004 - 2006 X5 3.0 with a Manual Transmission. There were not that many viable options out there. Less than a dozen that were actually manuals. And the 2 features she demanded were 1) Manual Transmission and 2) Black interior.
We finally landed on this 2004 rental Silver 3.0 6-speed outside of Chicago. So, I had it checked out, flew up and drove back to ATL all in about 30 hours.
Here is how I picked her up...

BORING!!!
So, #1 update...wheels. A friend of mine was getting rid of some 20x9.5 and 20x10.5 Style 87's. So, while the wife was at work...I hopped in the wagon to go pick them up.

And...on the car they go...

Next up...some low, some exhaust, some other fun stuff. All that really matters is that the wife is happy...and driving a hot car!!! Hopefully, she will let my drive it on occasion.
