  • 79 AE70 Corolla from NZ

Hey, will get some more pics soon.

This is my 79 AE70 Corolla. Currently running the factory 3AU which just ticked over 100,000kms, will be doing a 4AGE swap at some point. It has 15x7.5 and 15x8 Impul Pro Mesh wheels and is lowered on KYB shocks and TRD springs.

It needs to and will go lower, however as im from New Zealand and we have strict laws on modifying cars, this will need to wait for the engine swap. Both of these require me to get a certification which is about $700 so will wait and do both at once.

Beautiful man, those wheels go perfect with the car.

I named my car Febreze, cuz it's fresh as fuck!

Cheers, i would like a set of 14's, i think they would suit the car a bit more but they're hard to come by in good sizes/offsets without importing from Japan.

Oooh sorry! the fender mirrors are new, they're not actually mounted properly in the first photo, im doing this tomorrow. I should have mentioned that the photos were all from random times!

They go from newest to oldest.

Will also be putting a new exhaust on next month. Anyone got any suggestions for tips? Can either just go for a new factory looking exhaust, or go for something different. Was considering some extended twin pipes that bend up just above the rear bumper but not sure if i actually like it.

I'm sure the WOF man doesn't like anything extending past the bumper but a subtle upswept twin pipe would be cool as. Anything but a fart can But I'm sure you would never do that

Definitely not a big bore or dumpy, can't stand them. Plus we have very strict noise restrictions on cars, can't be any louder than the factory exhaust, but you can usually get away with up to 95db which is still quiet.

Im not too sure on the restrictions on things going past the bumper, but the front lip pokes out further than the front one and have never had problems with getting a WOF or with police.

chin spoiler & mirrors add aggression to an already classic sedan; I dig. just wish the mirrors weren't plastic.

Yeah I would like some non-plastic mirrors but $60 brand new compared to around $400 imported, I couldn't justify it. Not at the moment anyway
