would like to see the rear lower, and also widen wheels... the same wheels but widened...
as of right now, the stock tires (215/55s) and the fuel filler neck are keeping the rear from going lower. My wife and I have actually been talking about having the factory wheels widened. I like their look too much to go with a different wheel. bare with me, we have only had the car for 2months

Ah wow, I had seen the photos around facebook and thought that this was photoshopped.
I think it is just the whole aired out on factory wheels without any camber/slight change in tyres just made it look like a photoshop haha. Really cool looking car, and that's awesome amount of work to be done to a brand new car - especially notching haha.
I think as cool as it is - if it were mine, I'd want fatter tyres at the back, a fair amount of camber on the back wheels when aired out - and slightly skinnier tyres up front so they look more flush to the rim, rather than slightly ballooned.
Again, epic build so far! And awesome looking car My personal opinion is just that so please don't think I'm being negative to any part of the build
i'm not a huge fan of the new beetles...but this newest style is def much better. props on the excellent work put into it. i love the vinyl insert and the whole vintage look. (needless to say how badass the air setup is) but i can't help thinking that after all this amazing work and money and effort, something needs to be done with the wheels. even widening the rears i don't think will be enough to suite the awesomeness of this car. you need something totally dif and custom imo
Is it a base? If so they use the same beam rear axle as the new Jetta so rear camber will be impossible without swapping in the IRS from a turbo model.
Car looks fantastic though. I could never give up that much trunk room but then again I only have one car.

Nothing negative taken at all. Like I mentioned before we have only had the car a couple months. we are currently working on the wheel/tire situation. because this is the base 2.5l beetle it does have a solid rear beam so technically a larger than normal amount of negative camber isnt doable...but i am working on a fix for that

thanks for the props. we have been looking at other retro style wheels...once step at a time i guess

I am currently working on a minor fix for this. the trunk space in my wifes beetle isnt needed. thanks for the props.
I have been working with dieselgeek.com to help them develope one of their panzer skid plates for the new 2012+ VW Beetles. Well here it is and it looks sic! test dummy=free stuff. Ohhh and it works. Allie and I tested it out tonight.
