  • Any 840ci builds?

This is my absolute dream car and I can't find shit for builds. I've searched over a few years and found minimal stuff done to them, but I just know there is at least some awesome track builds if not full out builds...

This one ran / runs in the VLN, a Nürburgring-only endurance race series. First started in 2000, it ran regularly until 2006 and made a comeback in 2011... no idea what it's doing today.

^ Never thought low-offset fronts/ high offset rears could look good! ^

yes, I know of that car and the widebody red one that has had success on the higher levels of racing.

just not the best platform to start a track car.

Ive owned a few 8 series (v12's) and also own 850BMW.com . I have build pics of the red widebody that ive archived and will post later for the OP

Just want to see builds in general, not necessarily track cars. I figured someone would have really built a sick stanced setup on one but not much to be found in that arena.

Curious though, what do they run cost wise for the bigger v8 models?

The E31 is tied with the Porsche 928 as one of my dream project cars.

There are a couple build threads here on SW. Most owners (outside of S/W) are into keeping them pretty much stock or just slightly modded....LOTS OF BMW PURIST.

They are a lot more expensive to maintain than your average e36,e46,etc from that era.

I always suggest buying the most/best documented car that you can afford....and then get ready to spend a lil more.

I havent worked on mine inna while because I have so many projects going on at the same time But its in the build section, as well as a couple others ( v8 & V12 )

***** the V8's are the "smaller" versions...V12's are the adult toys
                  .

From what I remember reading about them there were two v8 trim packages, the v12, and the alpina. I meant I'd be happy with the larger of the two v8s.
