As Dr.AK said, there's nothing that spectacular under the hood, just a 2.slow ID Code AGG.
352.000Km now and just replaced tear and wear parts until now.

As I'm 95% satisfied with the appearance of my GTI now, I made up some plans involving the 2.0 16V that's been sitting in the garage for almost two years now.
I got the donor car for cheap, but the 8V is just so reliable and so much fun to drive that I didn't want to throw it out until now.
...but now I made some plans involving the 16V engine and a Eaton M65 supercharger... the GTI wouldn't be my daily driver anymore then and the 8V would live on in my next daily beater... but we'll see what happens.

mad mad respects for running the stock 2.0 with such a good time...

16V makes a world of difference too, back in the day friend had a MKII with 16V.. sounded a bit like a bike, goes pretty good

...I heared of that... if they do it and if the prices will be below the prices on the ring, I might be tempted to move to the US! lol

    Thanks for the comments, guys!

Yes, I think I remember your Bimmer, at least I'm sure I saw a red one with a black roof that day.

    @ Andersg
It's not a problem at all, as long as you don't scrape/rub at the entrance nobody will care, but if they already spot something obviously illegal or forbidden, they'll send you home, same when your car obviously exceeds the loudness regulations.
If you get mad and start complaining then, they'll call the cops.

So awesome. Love the wounderbaum all sideways, haha.

Wha'ts it like to get on the track with a low/stanced car? I'm planning on driving from Norway to the Ring soon, but I live in the fear that they won't let me out on the track. It barely rubs when I push it hard.

This is easily one of my favorite MK3's. The red on gold looks sick.
