shoot they used to be all over indy. I remember seeing them in the double digits at a local yard a long long time ago. They share eerily similar block/head designs as the volvo 4cyl redblock. They're just america's neglected escort cossie version cut back for emissions and safety.

And here's the volvo 16v head on the XR4ti's 2.3 4cyl block. I think this car ran in the 11's down the 1/4.
