    Lol.

Your argument is invalid since any pics you ever post look like they came from a toaster.

Its a little bland for my tastes, but its damn clean and no one can h*** on that.

Looking over the pictures, I think you could have done it better. Just knowing Evos and what youve done, shows that the pictures dont even do it justice. The lighting in all your pictures isnt that great and most are OOF. I just checked out your Flickr and the first two images are far better than these, though still a bit blurry.

Since youre shooting a Canon I recommend checking out photography-on-the.net and learning as much as you can. You send me a PM if you want for hyper critical comments and suggestions on better pics if you so wish.

I know a lot of that sounds a bit crass, but I want to help. I can tell that Evo is nice...
I see nothing really wrong with his light, or composure, just OOF, I'm willing to bet that it's his 50 1.8 doing him injustice.

You have got the idea down Kyle, just need to practice more, that's all it comes down to really.

        Really?

        Every white is blown out.
        The sky is blown out.
Most of the time the car is blue.
And the second image, the car is just sitting in the center of the frame.
        All the pictures are blurry

Im not saying they are the worse images Ive seen on the site, just that they could be better. I was in no way being a dick about it, just some helpful knowledge to insure that his next pictures do the car justice. I never liked the 50 1.8 personally, but it seems like a lot of people I know (those who could not afford the 1.2) rave about it for the price.

The pictures are far better than most I see around here so hes on the right path. Just takes some practice. I have never used my 50 1.2 for any car shots as I either used my 85 1.2 or 135 2.0...

Not every white is blown out.
I'd like to see you not blow out the sky in those conditions and have everything else be properly exposed.
I doubt he messed with white balance.
Like I said before I bet it was his 50 responsible for missing the focus.

He's not claiming to be a photographer, he's just posting pictures of his car, I don't get what the deal is. For someone who just fucks around with a camera, the shots don't look bad at all. He's not a pro, and never claimed to be. I think that you should stick to worrying about your own shots, you could listen to your own critiques.

To me, it doesn't seem Tristin is being a dick (or at least not trying to be), he was just offering a bit of constructive criticism. It did come off a bit know-it-all'ish though.

My constructive criticism: I like EVOs better without the trunk wing.

You don't need expensive gear at all... Not once did I tell him to get new gear to be better. It doesn't matter what you shoot with you need to learn the basics.

Other than snapshots of my work, I have ONE picture by me in my thread... All others were taken by different people. The one picture taken from a 3/4 rear with the Carig and Dancer sign is the only image I've taken meant to show anything other than physical work I performed. It was also taken with an iPhone. As soon as I decide to post creative shots feel free to critique them as much as you want. If I didn't want comments of my work, I wouldnt post them online for others to see.

Like I said, not being a dick. Sometimes things come across differently on the Internet. Everyone needs to chill out and take some tips when given. If the OP has an issue with my constructive criticism then he can PM and we can hug it out. I'm only trying to help him showcase his clean Evo better.

It was my 50 1.8 that messed up on me. I was in a hurry so I never looked at the pics on the camera after I took them. I am not trying to be a pro, this is just fun for me. The only editing I did was in iPhoto (all I clicked was "enhance"). Yes, some are blurry. But it's still better than a cell phone pic. I really don't know much about white balance and all that. Some day I'll learn, but right now, I'm just having fun.

Somehow I missed this is my first post so I will reply to it as well. There are numerous things I can think of to keep the sky from blowing out. Not all of them practical if you're not serious about photography.

The first is to buy a tripod and bracket your shots. Not only will this help any camera shake, but you can also save a sky. Set the camera on the tripod. Expose for the sky. Take a picture. Expose for the background. Take a picture. Expose for the car. Take a picture. Blend in preferred editing program.

The second is to use a polarizing filter. You'd be surprised what it could do.

The third is to save the sky in post processing. Once again, you'd be surprised what you can save. I can post an example if needed.

And sometimes you can't save the sky... So you replace it with a better one in post.

Now like I said, some options are better than others depending on your skill level or commitment level.

Do you shoot in raw or JPEG?- I can't remember if iPhoto has raw capability... I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
