Not entirely. The 98 v70s are essentially the same as the 850s with minor differences in mechanics. Its the 99+ models that you are probably reading about.

The rears are all the way down and the front could go another 3/4" - 1" lower. The wheels on the car are 18x8 with 205/40s. ETs are 35F/13R

yeah it's the 99+ with ETM;s that are bad. 98's are the way to go if you want the modern look of a v70 and ease of tuning.

to be honest though the ETM isn't really bad per say, and i would know i've owned a few 99 v70xc wagons. and switched to a 98 v70xc and s70t5

So many volvo nerds in one area. I would suggest a 97 850 or 98 s70. Both are very similar and with the correct maintenance you will have a very solid car. To your average volvo owner lowering springs are "perfect" and often people complain they are too low. It's nice to see a newcomer not get sucked into this.

You forgot narrow OEM 17s. Comets!

(OP Volvo guys are the only community who have memorized all OEM wheel names since the Spica. Better get crackin')
My first JDM project after decades of European cars!

Some OEM wheels are awesome, while others, not so much.

Talking about Volvo awesomeness, car started today on first crank after being sitting for more than an year.

Also, avoid AWD if you're looking to get low.
