I think the only thing look wrong in the E36 is the tires size they look to tall (45 I guess?) change tires and slammed it and it'll look good!

A 45 on a 17" is not too tall, they would look a bit better stretched with more low, but keep the 45s!

I was thinking that a 40 would be to small compared to the fender arch and look funny, but after seeing your car I may have to try it out, you pull it off very well. Defiantly need to go skinnier on my next set, still debating if I should go 215 or 205 on an 8 wide wheel. (225 now)
