  • finally got the volvo sitting right

here is what my car looked like before...it looked nice, but still looked WAYY too high.

and now after removing a couple unnecessary coils, i got this

    DSC01679 by sebarbour23, on Flickr

it could use about a 5mm or so spacer on the front, but i'm more than happy with how it sits now. i'm loving it

also, i got these in the mail today, so i figured if i wanted to put them on my car, i'd have to do SOMETHING about how high it was haha

edit: the crap on the fender lip is the double sided tape from the tacky-ass trim the PO put on there.. I'm still taking off the wood grain sunroof crap, too...it is frustrating, and i was getting pissed haha so it'll come off in the next week or so.

Wow, not bad. I would space the rear a little more and the front a lot more. I have a soft spot for sawblades. Some bumper paint, clean tails, and no more swedish flag and you are in business.

In that first pic, I almost thought there were no tires mounted. :/

Looks great, although there are a few things that I would change.

Sand the tails down and add a red vinyl (glossy and looks better)
          Remove that spoiler.
Paint that swedish flag back to white, or black. Or something less tacky.
          New headlights lenses / corners
Remove rear S|W sticker and whatever else is on the rear window

Remember...less is always more. I would love to see this thing cleaned up.

BTW, what happened to the front fenders?

Thanks a ton matt! I tried sanding the tails down, but there's no saving them that way. I never thought about red vinyl, though. Thats a hell of a lot better than the $200 dollar set of tails i was looking at haha. I was looking at removing the spoiler..I dont want to do it until I have something to plug the holes. The spoiler is rough, though, and imo kills the back. Headlights will come later on..dont have the money for proper replacements. im still in the process of removing stickers, and the flag is one of the things i'm taking away...and the s|w sticker on the back, i got carried away haha.

What do you mean about the front fenders? the only thing that is wrong with them is the adhesive from the trim that used to be on the fenders... im about to go outside and try to take it off.. ugh

The fenders just look like they're cracked or something towards the top...I guess it's just that adhesive you mentioned. I think your car is awesome, but it just needs to be cleaned up...that's all. If you live by the "less is more" motto you'll be just fine. I think if you go spoilerless it would really clean things up, and even make the rear look lower. I installed an R spoiler onto mine a while ago lol. It lasted LITERALLY one week and I took it off and sold it.

I did the vinyl on my tails and I love it. I think it was like $8 shipped from ebay or something and I had a buddy install it (I believe it was from Rtints CLICK HERE)

Maybe snatch up some junkyard tails and try to do them yourself!

The paint is pretty dull on the fenders.. the single stage needs a LOT of work, and im going to do a full detail when i know i have at least two days of NICE weather. The vinyl would be super easy on my tails since they're all flat..had no idea it was so cheap..i'm going to order some tomorrow morning, for sure. The spoiler is definitely coming off... I found a picture of a slammed S70 with a spoiler, and then your picture, and I can definitely see what you mean about the car looking lower. I'll take it off tomorrow and check it out. I am totally new to this kind of styling, and I really do appreciate all the tips!

I like it. Don't change a thing about the wheels, but please fix the paintwork on the car

edit: and listen to Mr. Phillips.
