my statement was just that every Bmw/benz i see post are stock, slammed, with wheels.

no aero, no widebodies, no cool differentiating stuff. they all look the same. not saying its a bad look. If i had one id do the same as a dd, with a widebody, or something else rediculous however.

just different styles. seems most euro owners on here have the same style. thats all

So according to your track record, if it really is true, then this will be the next trend in a year or two?

                kids these days

for all i care i could be WAY behind the curve. as long as im not lumped in with the rest of the miatas on the road, or styles currently "trendy" i dont really care. just dont want to fall into the norm.

I don't like the car nor do I dislike it. I do feel, however, that this entire post should have a hipster meme somewhere in it. I'm hoping you built it because that's how YOU wanted it to look like and not to just be different as it really sounds. 1 I'll respect and one I'm iffy on.

                    out of curiosity why?
Im not really relating me/this post/this car to hipster. I mean, hell i could be a closet hipster, albeit i dont fit any of the characteristics except maybe my glasses. Just interested in your reasoning is all

Not a fan personally, but if you drive it like it should (use the aerodymanics of the wing) that is all that matters to me.

Also you shouldn't talk about curves or trends like that, makes it seem toolish. I would just post up what you like and whereever it lands so be it, people will ** on everything and anything so it doesn't matter.

Because clean styling looks good and fits Euro cars very well. We don't build shitty cars just for the sake of being "different." And just for the record, you aren't doing anything that hasn't be done before.

If you're trying to be "ahead of the curve," build a car that flies. No wait, that's been done too, goddamn Jetsons.

widebody BMWs are gorgeous, but not popular.

i have a different outlook. I believe many people (with any car) only do coilovers, and wheels because it is the cheapest and easiest way to fit into a current style that is popular and growing. Sure it looks amazing, but isnt really out of the norm at this point. And that is what bothers me. Noone wants to be out of the norm for sake of being different.

Now, this is just my own personal outlook on it, but when i ask many people why they havent gotten bigger brakes, or widebodies, or interiors, it all comes down to cost. But then, if you have the disposable income to spend 4k on wheels/suspension/components/tires/alignments, then why cant you do the other stuff you say you want to do (not saying you ever said you wanted to, since my words are being taken letter by letter to the T).

"stanced" (i **** that word, but it is well known) is a style. people want to be a part of it because it is the current trend. in 1996 lambo doors and vader kits were the style. Eveyrone was a part of it. styles move and change, and people want to be apart of them.

I just dont care to be apart of them. Im sure those of you that took the time to look at my flickr understand that

The reasoning is in my edited post. However, I'll elaborate. I'm all for not fitting into trends. When Hondas were cool, I had a Neon. My first jaunt into Stance/Hellaflush was a Mazda6 and a 350Z. When the popular big body sedan was/is Mercedes, BMW, or Lexus GS, I did a 300C. I didn't do it to BE different. I just happened to like different type of cars than the norm and I never really made a big deal of it. I just kinda did it. And on my 300C, I DEFINITELY stuck out like a sore thumb in the 300 community where the norm is big chrome wheels and stick ons and wheel gap. However, on Stanceworks, I was barely a blip on the radar (hence my sig). Again, I never made a big deal about why I did it cuz built/build cars that I like to suit me and if looks like something else, so be it. If it doesn't, so be it.

Your replies have seemed to be more along the lines of "I don't fit in the box" than "I built it for me...THE END". And to that, if that is what you want your car to look like, fine. I wouldn't build it like that, but it's not my car. ON the other hand, if you purposely made a car look like that on the basis of not fitting into a mold or box or whatever, that's stupid to me. If you like a certain trend or don't want to look like everyone else, build something groundbreaking or do something nobody has done before. Don't take a bunch of attention grabbing styles and throw them together just to NOT fit in. I mean, sans paint and lights, you have a slammed Miata like everyone else who has a slammed Miata. Only difference is yours is not aesthetically pleasing.

If that's how you want your car to look, cool. If you're doing it to NOT look someone else, not cool.

I did it for me. totally. It just happens that my style is stupid and outlandish.

But still wonders...where does the hipster part of the description come in, that was my only question really.
