wow, what a set of likes and dislikes!, i truly understand the negatives, the wheels can be a little too massive for purists. As much as i love the old look i've grown a little out of it having stuck to the route for a long time. It's easy to achieve that look if i ever needed to so i decided go a little wild this year.
The wheels are still raw from the first owner, rashes on all 4 wheels, oxidized barrels, chipped paint on the spokes and so on. so no close ups
But if i had a choice, it'd be step lips.
I foresee these 20" DPE to be sort of temporary so never know what's next
I'm torn between:
- Polished dish and body colour spokes
- body colour dish and matt black spokes
- gloss black dish and matt black spokes (leaning towards this)
Wow! I never thought that I would say that I liked 20's on an E34, but for some reason they really bring the overall look of your car together imo. I am sure that you could find some aggresive 17's and slam the car as well, but for now I really like this look....good job.
Did they hide the offsets from you as well.....lol?
This makes me wonder if I should have kept my 19" DPE S20 3 piece that I had on My E39? I was going to put them on my E34 when I first got it, but I sold them before I had the chance.
DPE makes some nice wheels! My old 540.
Yeah, wonder why the discreetness when its not that difficult to replicate if some other companies ever wanted to? but it's no big deal, they fit perfectly anyway. no spacers
Body color dish and black spokes? Hmm. I'm doing some photoshop on the wheels now and shall revert with a few samples
Back to the topic of these 20s being TOO big, it hasn't struck me that the wheels are negatively too large looking at the car in real life, they're big yes, big for practicality yes, but big as in H2-on-24s they're not imo. But keep the opinions rolling. No offense taken at all.

Growing up an e34 guy and knowing alot of the die hard guys (alot of whom aren't on this site) I think people just aren't used to it. Putting 20s on this car is definitely going against the grain. With that said I think if anyone has pulled it off its you. There are a few things your e34 has that I generally wouldn't be a huge fan of on there own but your execution of all of them put together is impressive to say the least.
I would love to see it dumped on 17s or 18s at some point though.

Yeah, was contemplating a set of ACS Type II, 8.5X18 and 10X18, but i've been on 15s, 16s, 17s, 18s, 19s and now i HAVE to try on 20s just for kicks. Though in the days of 18s and smaller didn't count as it was many years ago and stance bar wasn't that high then.
like the ACS more.. car is seweet though. what country are you in?
thanks, i'm based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Here it is as promised, Photoshopped wheel finishes. Click on them to enlarge if you wish:
So here I am trying to decide on a colour scheme for the DPE S-10 wheels should chrome/polish finish be scrapped. A quick photoshop rendition simulates the results and here I have 5 different finishes. I know the renditions can look over the top but it's photoshop, who cares?
As for the studs/nuts, i'll leave it for a later decision. Most likely to be chrome though.
First picture above illustrates Body Colour Dish with Black Spokes.
