  • E34 on Staggered ACS (thanks Shane!)

I've been on the lookout for some ACS type II wheels for about the past 6 months. I missed out on a few sets and after those, there were only square sets available and even those were few and far between. I finally posted a WTB here and Shane (DangerWillRobinson) offered this beautiful set up. 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. Tires are 215 35 18 and 235 35 40. I'm going to replace the fronts with 215 40 18 to make the tire rolling diameters equal and make it look a bit cleaner in the front. I just got the wheels tonight and these are the pics I took in my limited time.

The car is on Koni adjustables and H&R. The front Konis are now blown and I am considering some Ground Controls (with shortened housings). I do think the Koni/H&R combo will manage to look pretty decent as far as ride height is concerned even though I know it wont completely satisfy you hellaflush dudes

This car started out as my beater... its really turning into a second, really fun project now however. The car has come a loooong way since I bought it. I couldn't even drive it when I paid for it ($900) and it has over 350,000 miles. Its solid now and I'm loving minute I get to spend driving it. Anyway, enough talking... on to the pics. Feel free to comment... I dig it though.

the e30 (roommate's car) is turbo'd... made 280 whp at 10 psi, 330 whp at 13 psi, and now its on 17 and sometimes 20 when he's feeling adventurous lol. Should put it over 400 whp. $100 turbo lol

and finally a shot of the reason this is my beater

might space these wheels out after the new tires... it would be nice to have them perfectly flush

Can we get a profile shot? Can't really see the wheels in any of the pictures.

I know you said that they are 18's but maybe because they are white on a black car they look small.

You paint looks nice! Make me want to get mine resprayed.

Dear GOD that's hot Chris. The ACS's are PERFECT on your e34. I'm really glad they went to a good home, and looking forward to seeing updates on this one. Spacers to flush them up would finish it nicely, but for just throwing them on, it tits. I have a ton of spacers here. 5mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, and 25mm. I'm not sure what all I'll be using just yet, but I'll let you know what's leftover when I'm done refinishing and fitting all my wheels on all my cars.

Nice holset setup, BTW. What is that? An HX50? I'm sure it's on VEMS.

Yeah, I know sorry about the no side shot thing. I had limited time and didn't feel like moving the car when I was taking pics. They are 18's and I agree they don't look too big. Paint only looks nice because of the camera... its decent, but far from perfect in real life. Oh, and the P.O. is the one who posted below you. There's a profile shot of the wheels for ya

Thanks, I'm really happy with them! I would love to talk to you about spacers when you're ready. Thats an HX52 on the Audi. Still not finished, but its getting there. Gotta stop spending money on the beater

I agree, the tires are indeed too small on the front. Rears are 235 35 18 and fronts are 215 35 18 currently. I just ordered 215 40 18 for the fronts which puts them very close to the same sidewall height as the rears. Should handle bumps and such much better without bubbling and should look much better as well. Spacers are definitely happening.

I shadow what everyone else said about spacers/tires/ maybe more lows but IMHO its what under the hood what makes this car shine!

                Looks great man!

Very nice, I think with spacers the height is pretty much perfect. Love the wheels.

here you go fools (phone pics)... I can't get a straight side shot still lol

Yes, tires are in order as well as spacers, and the front could go down a bit at least. Coilovers are needed!

E30 is on spec E30 suspension (koni/H&R). Engine is basically a stock M20 internally with a Holset H1C, ebay intercooler, tial 38mm wg, home-made twin scroll manifold, and MSII. I forget what clutch, but if you want more details, I can get them for ya. He also makes "econoboost" which converts the stock econometer gauge into a boost gauge
