mk1 vortex people dont think mk1s are race car, but they know the difference between decent poke and absurd style. Your rear isnt low enough, and your offsets are too high. It has potential, it just isnt there yet.

You mean the offsets are too low... But either way, I got them for a good deal from a close friend. And I've only had the truck for like 2 months, so it's still in progress.

The lower the offset the more it pokes... Therefore my offset is too low because it pokes too much..

I think most people on the Mk1 forum don't think their cars are race cars (although Mk1's do have much more race-bred history then newer VW's.. but you could care less about the history of old cars.. you're just in it for the "stance scene"), just tired of fly-by-night new-schoolers coming on the boards with an attitude when they get constructive criticism. You are a perfect example. Most everyone on vortex was saying the same thing as said here "nice truck, but the offsets are wrong" Then you go so far as to accuse some of us as not knowing how to lower a vehicle or know anything about what we are talking about....

Face it, you bolted on a set of coilovers, wound them down all the way, and bolted on some drop plates, then bought shiny wheels and slapped them on the truck.. you didn't do anything out-of-the-box here.. you just need to fix the way it sits a little to get it "right". But you didn't like to hear it fromt he Mk1 crowd, but it's ok here?


Basically your truck is nice, and has potential to be pretty on-point if you spend some time figuring out your offsets better.. oh and do some REAL work to get it riding nicely sitting this low.. it's your attitude that sucks and rubbed people the wrong way..... but hey what do I know.. I've never lowered anything before and think Mk1's are only racecars

Lolol the only thing that's annoying is that everyone in the mk1 forums are acting like this is my first car... No its not, it's my 10th.. Go browse my Flickr if you'd like. I KNOW that it has a lot of poke.. I've calculated offsets on previos cars, and I've built wheels multiple times. It's not you guys telling me that you don't like the truck that's annoying, trust me, I can take ****. I just **** when people like you, that don't know me act like I just though "oh this is cool" no.. I didn't. And yeah I know I haven't done any major work... I've had the truck for two months, I haven't had time to shorten the rear axle like I want, or even though you guys probably think its stupid I still want to flip the axle. I've been doing more important things such as fixing mechanical problems, and leaks..

Maybe you should have browsed the Mk1 forums before you passed everyone off as think all of our cars are racecars or that we have never lowered anything...


How many cars you have owned isn't remotely relevant... I'd rather see someone that built 1 mind-blowing car, than someone that had 10 cars that were just "ok".

Flipping the rear axle and shortening the rear axle are all old news.. Mk1 community has been doing that crap for years.


If you came into the thread saying things like I've been doing more important things such as fixing mechanical problems, and leaks", you definitely would have gotten some kind words, as anyone can relate to that.
