      I think they look like cheesy late 80's Trans Am wheels.

      I think you should get the stock steelies widened/banded, and use the stock dog dish caps. Deep steelies with dog dish caps, real real low... that thing would be sick.

        lol they are trans am ws6 wheels. but the wheels on it right now are only 14x6's i think..and the ws6 wheels are 16x8's. i just wanna do something different. the stock steel wheels are cool, but they're just too small.

                    That is not correct and there is more to consider than just 'progressive vs linear' springs.

                    If you take a progressive spring and cut out of the actual spring you will increase the spring rate as the initial softer rate of the spring has been removed. This 'can' be the better solution as you will be lowering the vehicle and also increasing the rate.

                    If you take out of any potential dead coil(s) then you will be lowering the vehicle but not increasing the rate. Is this 'better'?                     This leads to cutting linear springs. Same deal as above... you are lowering the vehicle and not increasing the rate. It can work, it has been known to work but again is not right.

                      how's it not a rat? it has the original paint from 1964. no carpet or anything. i can see the road thru the hole the original owner cut for the 4 speed. no working gauges or dashlights. motor that hasnt been freshened since the late seventies (points ignition, weepy carb, old air filter, etc etc.) and it will still run train on most kids cars....the only thing new is the the dual flowmasters, a new water pump and a new clutch. thats pretty minimal for a 45 year old car.

                        I guess mainly it is your car being stock. I associate the term rat with old, modified cars stripped of everything but the essentials, following the rules of function over form, and appearing to be unfinished. I would call your truck old instead of rat, but that's just me.

                        Anyways, get that thing on the ground!

                          theres just some ones i took real quick. and as an answer to the post above there isnt really anything stock about the drivetrain. it has a 61 corvette 283 thats built with full length headers, and an m22 muncie which is the holy grail of muscle car transmissions...the outside is the only stock thing i guess? so its rat/sleeper?
