So it turns out I couldn't wait and I drove it all today. What a drive...forgoddamnever. Ended up driving into snow around 9..then again worse around 11:30...got here with ease. The car was packed, the pod too. Mountain in the morning...so pumped. Car drove perfect the whole way. Averaged 28.1 mpg on the way up.

Yeah I just had enough debating whether or not they'd be okay in the snow. But looks like I wouldn't have had a problem at all with this weather. Then again, I'd rather be putting 1500 miles on these tires than progressing the shitty wear on the 512's.

If they get any real snow while you're there, you might have a problem though. Hope for the best I guess lol. Now that I've got my car raised up and on winter tires...I'm hoping for a snowstorm (to drive in some snow and for the sake of being about to snowboard). Regardless, drive safe and have fun man.

not worth paying for. i have a season pass so it's no big deal but every mountain is pretty bare right now with only man made snow, they are getting 4-6 tonight and more tomorrow so hopefully this continues on and this shitty mild weather stops.

Lol, I know what you mean. And it sounds crazy to think about what I've spent on the car versus the little amount for snow tires but I just don't have the funds, especially around xmas time and after booking the trip.

but thanks man, I've got some plans for it in the summer when I get some free time.

People are very nice out here, really friendly and always out to help others. Friendliest state Ive ever been in. Ive been helped out by countless strangers at various times, all really cool about it and approached me when they saw me in need, so if you get in a bind, I wouldnt worry too much.

Take lots of pics. If the weather keeps up like this tho, it will probably be 50 when you come and no snow..

Oh, and on the 2x4's and scissor jack..old, large phone books work awesome as "lifts" or ramps to drive on, since they're adjustable.. just flip the pages to the height you want ha.
Don't tell me that lol, I'm hoping it cools down and starts snowing more. I spoke to my brother the other day (works at a shop so has very strong opinions) and he convinced me to raise it up and put the other wheels on. Damn it drives so nice lol, but I miss is being low.

I'll be taking a shit load of pictures on the drive, from the mountain, and of course...in the snow. I put my roof rack on, mud flaps on, raised it up, and put the winter wheels on. Hopefully there is enough tread in the rears to give me enough traction.

Yeah I was at H20, it was a good time. Very eventful lol, although the actual show sucked ass(mainly parking).

I had to put my friend's front bumper on my roof rack for him to drive around (gti next to me) but even though it was shitty, I was still havin a good time in the mud lol.

Yeah you will no doubt get some looks and compliments haha. Not many cars like this out these ways because its all red necks and muscle cars/trucks. Oddly enough tho, they all love it. I got nothing but respect and compliments from some of the redest rednecks. None of the "****" you see online from certain other cliques of motorheads.

*edit* actually it was around the time the pic from the sig was taken. Better pic

I think we've all got some 2x4's in our trunks lol. I need to get one of those bags as a jack. I have to stack three 2x4's to get my jack underneath, I refuse to use the scissor jack my car comes with.

Car looks good though, I can definitely see why you had problems getting around in those circumstances.

Good to hear about the locals though. I'll be sure to bring a tow rope just in case...or maybe instead of being helped, someone else will need to be pulled out of a ditch or just stuck in general lol

She had to leave for work in the opposite direction and I had to work as well. Took me about 15 minutes to make it up the on ramp, just sat and spun and fish tailed.. then it was 30 the whole way with the 4 ways on in the slow lane up the mountains (most traffic was doing about the same tho as they hadnt plowed yet) Luckily I was behind a large truck and he was breaking path for me, or else I dont know if I woulda made it.

Almost went off the road twice and got stuck 4 times from bottoming out on that trip. What was a 20 minute drive normally, turned into almost 2 hours. I got alot of dumfounded stares too from people haha (he's driving that in this weather?)
