  • Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR with ADV.1

Just had to share this with you Gents...

    Exotic Stance.
Every once in a while, we at Sonic MS receive the opportunity to work with top caliber exotics such as this pristine particular example.

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was inspired by the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe & Racecar of 1955, which was a modified Mercedes-Benz W196 F1 race car.

This car utilizes carbon fiber for its entire body construction and the engine bay houses a hand-built 5,439 cc (5.439 L; 331.9 cu in), supercharged, all-aluminium, SOHC V8 engine which was developed in conjunction with Mercedes and McLaren.

    The engine generates a maximum power of 626 PS (460 kW; 617 hp)@6500rpm and maximum torque of 780 N·m (580 lb·ft)@3250-5000rpm.

Such a rare car and doubly so for an owner willing to modify one. As such, we were very excited to see the end result when the customer came into put a deposit on a set of Advance One ADV.5 3-Piece Forged Monoblocks in the deep concave configuration.

The wheel and tire specifications are as follows:
    - ADV.1 ADV5 3-Piece Forged Wheels in Deep Concave Profile Configuration
    - 20×9.0 Front | 21×10.5 Rear
    - Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires
    - 245/35/20 Front | 295/25/21 Rear
    - Tinted Brushed Aluminum Finished Centers | Full Polish Lip

In addition, we custom painted the OEM brake calipers in a red finish, applied the appropriate McLaren Logo and adjusted the OEM coilover height to compensate for the larger wheels and tires.
And without further ado, here are pictures of the end result. Enjoy!

How does the 3 piece monoblock wheel works out?

Nice catch, that's obviously a typo.

I kinda agree. I don't fully think the wheels are "ugly" but they take away from the car in this case.

i will never understand how anyone can think the SLR is a good looking car... that being said, props for throwing some wheels on one and messing with the suspension

Does that mean that they raised it?
