  • My E28 Build Thread Thing

I don't really know how to build thread, but I don't give a turkey and I'm going to post a bunch of stuff in here.

Here's my E28. 1985 535i 5-speed on the left. My roommate's is on the right.

More from the day I got it:

Then I picked up these wheels for it.

They are 16x8 and 16x9 with perfect offsets! Then I had to go and ruin it by buying a BMW with a 5x120 bolt pattern instead of 5x114.3. Enter 1.25" thick adapters.

    The resulting setup is 16x8 ET-31 195/50 and 16x9 ET-18 205/45.
I'm going to have a tough time getting these to fit properly, and I may be switching to smaller tires up front. I'll probably require camber plates, which means I'll need coilovers up front so I can use the smaller 2.5" diameter springs.

I really want to see the fitment of those. Could you not go for a thinner adapter? Heard them down to 15-20mm before so would bring those offsets in another 10mm.

Perhaps smaller adapters? I think they make them in 20mm thickness or less

Oh yeah, this will be awesome man. Can't wait to see what you do with it. I'm sure you will be able to figure out how to fit those wheels.

Little bit of progress made, got some smaller adapters. Now it's time to go hard in the paint and get the fenders rolled.
