Forever black was what VW used to use back in the day. Used to be able to buy it at any dealer. It works far better than back to black, shoe polish, kiwi dye, and all the other experimental methods like peanut putter, heat gun, etc. I'm trying not to paint because once you do, that's the only option you have. It's also hard to prep the texture for paint because if a silicone based conditioner was used, or shoe polish, the plastic oozes that back out as it dries itself out, and will not allow the paint to adhere.

But thanks to everyone for all the compliments.

i think the front looks kinda weird bc of the pictures...would help if the car was on level ground and the wheels straight instead of turned...

i love it man, but would like to see some better pics!

        I love B3s. I wish I wouldn't have abandoned my B3 VR6 wagon project.

thanks! i have to agree with you, this is the only generation Passat that i like. i have always referred to it as the bastard or red headed stepchild of the VW family because it stands out so much, and i think thats why i love it as much as i do.

                thanks man!

the RS center caps have been stripped and painted in truck bed liner to match the textured trim of the car [i know it doesn't quite match because the trim is still somewhat gray] this will be remedied this weekend hopefully. i have another set of original machined finish full height caps, but i don't like them as much as the black textured set i'm rocking. and i also have a set of custom caps for my other set of RS'

here was a test fit on the set on the wagon

i wish you wouldn't have either. there are just too few left on the road that haven't been scrapped after their engines were pulled and swapped into mk2's...

i actually recently picked up a 94 VR sedan thats slammed on 18" RC's. used to be my friends car [sorry i don't have any recent pics of it at the moment, these were from spring 2010]

Then you'll be happy to know the guy who bought it from me finished it.

oh really? thats awesome! is he on here, the vortex, dubkorps, ohiovw...? i'd love to see pics

aside from some minor bodywork, the only other thing i have planned for my wagon is a non-intercooled turbo kit.

and again, thanks for all the compliments.
i will take some more pics this weekend, the forever black arrives tomorrow, so i will be spending tomorrow evening applying it to my texture strips to bring them back to life

He kept it pretty OEM+, nothing too special. He finished the 5-speed swap, lowered it a little, tinted the windows and cleaned it up a bit. He sold it a couple months ago though.

Maybe yellow fogs, but it's pretty much perfect now.
