  • just a modest old w124

    Greetings, gentlemen of Stance|Works

This is my 94 e280, not stanced.
    it's on w202 lowering springs.

pads are 1 bump front and 2 bumps back
little moar low can be achieved by removing the pads.
and they shall be removed when all locations of scraping are identified.

As a new comer to S|W, I'd like to contribute a tip to our fellow w124 drivers.
which concerns the very expansive and discontinued AMG fender spacer kit.
you can make this kit on your own with very little cost.
the polyurethane spacers in the kit can be replaced with skateboard bushings
the bushings were exactly the right spec, so no problems at all.
as for the longer bolts and washers, they are just dirt cheap and everywhere.

I'd be very happy to hear any opinions and suggestions from you all,
(including the usual "needs moar low" comments)
As I reckon the talented gentlemen of S|W have a reputation of being creative with their fresh ideas.

Very impressive. I like the older Mercedes also. LOL, was looking at an old episode of Miami Vice and they had a white 560SEC. Sooooo nice.

looks good and clean, but you gotta lower it, remove the pads, cut the springs and you're ready...

where your wheels/tires rubs? i was with the same wheels on my w124 coupe before my current setup without any problems.

Gorgeous! I'm a big fan of merc 124s.
Almost bought a 300E with 34k original miles on it a few months back. But the guy wanted crackpipe money for it and wouldn't come down. Oh well.
                  Monoblocks look great.

Looks a little drug-dealer but overall I approve of it

hello sir, it's an honor to have you on my thread.
you and mr. HWY HNTR are like the w124 heroes of S|W
and I am a big fan of your car.

I am not even gonna complain about roads in Taiwan,
because I have seen what you have to put up with.
by locations of scraping I mean places where I may get stuck.
which most likely to be ancient underground parking lots of Taipei.

                        thank you for your concerns
My front fender did rub real bad though,
but that's because I had 225s at the front back then.
                        the problems are long gone.

some random kids actually asked me if I sell weed.
but it was when I was driving an e39,that was a long time ago in Canada.
although I am really aiming for a simple and clean look for this car.
I do kind of like the notion of being "gangsta" though.

thanks, I also kept my interior as oem as possible.
because pretty much every modern piece added to an old car's interior ruins it.
                        however, with that being said.
I still had to pull the old becker out of dash.
because it is now 2011, and i just can't stand the prospect of listening to just radio(with justin bieber's songs) and casette (poor sound quality) for the rest of my life...

sorry if im thread jacking, but reason why people call my oem interior is because it looks like this

you should debadge the rear, and flare the front fenders, 500E style!

if I am going to do a 500e replica, I'll need a lot more work than that.
and I don't really want to drive a car with pretentious identity...
I am cool with de-badging though. but thanks for the idea anyways!

I actually saw another w201 with interior like yours, except it has four different colors at each corner! (red, yellow, blue, green)
it reminds me of one of those special edition golfs with all the different colored body panels...
makes me wonder if it was a special edition thing for 190e too

Dude, those are mega rare. its called a sportline avantgarde. It reminds me of a power ranger car haha. You see it in real life? Or just a picture lol.
But I feel ya on making it look like a 500 but not being one. You could try to track down a turbo diesel fender, with the little slots in it. But anyways, it looks sick with the 18" monos!
