Are you trying to imply that spacing causes premature bearing failure and how is the belief in this wive's tale specific to BMWs?

I think thats what he was saying. But I have big spacers on my last car I had too, and I never had any problems.

it is a common question that comes up when people run big spacers, i had a fair few people ask me about that on one of my old cars when i ran custom 30mm and 35mm spacers. I guess since you're spacing out the wheels a long way the theory is it transfers more load onto the bearing? i think big camber would do more damage in that regard though.

there is a set of these for sale here in Perth, but i cant get 9.5s on the front of my e30 :P but stock offset is like +56 or something so that also put me off haha

Many flat face design wheels have 40mm variance in backpad depths - so the spacer is built in. Would be like going up to a guy with a Porsche 993 on 18x10 twists and asking if Porsche engineers designed their wheel bearings for such a wheel with 25-to-40mm more backspacing than a 996 running the same wheel with native ET65.

If the wheels were black, maybe satin lacquered and against black trim on the windows then that would look real good. Looks great now and the fitment is excellent, looks better in person im sure

i think that would just be a different look. i personally think the white looks pretty elegant on charcoal. yes it would look more mean with dark wheels and shadowlined but u just gotta go with what u like. there are sooo many dif ways to go after all.

thanks man! And yeah i love the white on the gray. But i've never been a big fan of the black trim on any color of bmw other then black. and i've never been into dark colors for wheels.
