Holy shit. So much win. I love FD's and that is one fine example. I think the track-spec look is scaring the minimalists around here, and sure the clean look has a place but the more functional you go in terms of trackwork, the less 'pretty' cars look. Love it man.

I understand that not everyone will appreciate the look nor what has gone in to this car. And I also understand some of you talk of track and at the same time not quite understand what it means to track the car.
That being said, I also have another RX7 that I'm building and also looking for a shell to do yet even more aggressive build for hopefully next year's SEMA.Follow me on Instagram for cool rotary pics and my projects!

Bottom line, more than money, my valuable time has gone into this car. Unlike some, I have been building this car for past 7-8 years and tried different combination to achieve feel and drive ability to suit my liking. As I always tell people looking for my advice, I always ask them what their goal is.. If I were to build a track car, this car will NOT be how it is now... And also, to be a serious track person, more than likely, I would spend the time and money ME trying to be a better driver than worry about the car. I think this last bit is what most people don't quite understand.. tracking is NOT about the car but about the driver.
Regarding the Yoko sticker.. I am sponsored by them so I need to place it where most people will see it. And by testing multiple tires in the past and direct comparison between Michelin PS2 vs. Advan Sports, Advans gave much more grip and better feel of the car (same sizes and on same wheels).
And regarding your wife's comment, my wife already says that to meLast edited by Herblenny; 09-16-2011, 10:24 AM.Follow me on Instagram for cool rotary pics and my projects!

Anyhow to answer your question, I haven't taken this car to track yet with current set up.. But I have been on track multiple times with my 8 and other cars.
Here are some pics of my track session with few Nissans.
And just for those of you who cares about tracking.. 8 is pretty much stock car with stock suspension with some 3 piece forgeline wheels (wet). I've also tracked the car with some SSR comps in dry weather.
Again, contrary to what some of you think about tracking.. but its about becoming a better driver.. You could track any car and not just cars that looks like my RX7... And just because I have a car that looks like more a track car doesn't mean it has to be tracked. I personally think its more exciting going thru mountain drive than going around in circles around same track over and over. Problem I see is that people 'compensate' their lack of skill by building faster and faster cars on the track.. I rather drive a slow car and become a better driver... and sometimes its more fun passing people in a slower carFollow me on Instagram for cool rotary pics and my projects!
