I really dig the car and you got my respect for all the work you put into it but you cant tell me this is all self financed, is it? Dont know how much you can make with a job beside school in the US but i remember myself being 17 and trying to make some money. I didnt get anywhere near being able to finish a project like this...

Even if it isn't, does it matter? Some people get lucky enough to have some parents that fork out some cash to them. Regardless of how the money made it to his hands the car is sick.

LOL many people bring this up. Well since I'm 17, I still live with my parents, my parents pay the utility bill, electricity bill, mortgage, etc. and I do not have to pay for my rooming. Taking this into consideration, when I work my shifts at my job for a decent pay, all the paychecks I receive solely go into my car. I have nothing else to support other than my GF. All I do is take her out to dinner and get her the occasional gift LOL. So the paychecks go into the car, into insurance, and into gas. The car=miata=cheap. Insurance=cheap compared to my previous M3s. Gas=cheap=becuz slowmiata4banger. All in all, having a car at age 17 isn't very difficult because I do not have to pay for anything else. Sadly, I will have to sell the car in half a year because I'm going off to university and I will need every cent I can get to support my schooling finances.

I got a buddy who spent like 16K on scooters back when we were 15 and this car reminded me of that.

If your parents told you when you were 17 that they would help you finance your hobby you're saying you wouldn't be balls deep in that? I know if my parents came home today and asked my if I wanted some RS's for Xmas I'd come home and mow the lawn all day long...

Makes sense. When I was 16-17, I worked @ a Subway making $8.25-$8.75/hour and I worked about thirty-xxxx hours a week. But at that age, the only "bills" I really had at that time was my car insurance, cell phone and gas. My car at the time ('88 RX-7 convertible) was paid off....so pretty much all the money I made also went into my car and/or buying my girlfriend dinner and cheap gifts Profit!

Us "old" people with our inflated debt and financial problems somestimes just get a bit jealous. I make good money for my age right now (i'm 24).....but most of it goes to "the man" if ya know what I mean. I know I wish I could rewind my life back five, six, seven years.....back to a time when I was young, ambitious and didn't have a worry in the world. Oh....and basically no bills!

The difference between you and I is that you know what you're doing as far as building a dope car goes at the age of 17. I wouldn't say my RX-7 was riced out or anything....I knew better than to equip it with a big ass wing, vinyl graphics, street glow, etc etc. It was decent for what it was and gathered a fair amount of respect amongst the local car scene. But it was nowhere near being on the level your Miata is. So I commend you for having excellent taste in cars at such a young age.

Keep doing what you do man.
