Big thanks to our man Danh Phan for flying out to cover Wek'Fest Chicago!

WekFest was fun, but the Honda community needs to figure out something other than K-bombing EKs. Because that's all I saw there.
And as a Honda diehard, the lack of ingenuity is kinda bothersome, and has me worried about the scene. The K20/K24 is a heavy engine that really doesn't add anything to handling characteristics. If it's going to be off-balanced anyway, why not do an interesting swap instead? Just my two cents. Yeah, it costs more, so just buy less stickers and longboards, and drop an RB26DETT in there and get weird with it.
But there were some seriously insane cars there. From the Junkhouse Porsche to the Rocket Bunny/Touge Factory S13, to the Nova, to all the Ruckuses (Ruckii? Ruckeyes?), it was a great showing of Chicago's scene.
Matte orange VW stole my heart. But the K20 Caddy is certainly vying for it.
You think this was good? This was just one photographer. Wait till Wek'Fest hits Dallas in October. Only then will you see what all 7 of us can do at one meet/show. You have no idea.

I will say I was underwhelmed as a whole by the show, just did not love the environment/vibe of it. Felt a bit too impersonal. Coverage looks good though and it was nice to meet you man! (I'm Jeremy, was hanging out with Mike)
