Ended up with a jetta wolfsburg front after that, never got to take pictures because I smashed into the back of a minivan a few weeks later, Had some ridiculously rare wheels ready to go on too, but meh gave up on it after that.
The MK2 Never gotten pictures either, bought it came with a 1.8l 16v (original Westy too) with 450,000 original miles on it, rusty and dirty all around, but EVERYTHING was original. Motor blew so we swapped in a 2l 16v out of a 91, car run beautifully, but we bought the E36 around then and it needed work so we traded labor for the car (friend really needed the car). Actually really miss it, was a blast to drive.
The MK4 R was a complete POS, kept having problems with it from day 1, should have figured I was the 4th owner, and I paid too much for it. After a couple of months, the timing chains started making hella noise, said fuck it didnt want to foot the ridiculous bill and traded the car in for a 2004 one owner 350z, LOVE the thing, has been great so far. It was time for me to step out of the VW game haha... but I want a MK2 VR.

Sometimes yes but all dependent on the wheels and where the structural strength it and so on. I looked into it as I wanted to make some 3 piece wheels out of some centres from a single piece wheel.
Yeah I have been contemplating doing that for the E36, if it doesn't end up going that way, i may just keep the faces and get lips and barrels made for them haha
