I think i know exactly what u mean. Ive had my b13 ser since the day it was new. Ive had her 21 years now and my wife calls it my mistress. Barring any tragedy i will have this car forever. I have a 10 year old son that was brought home in my car. My wife and i went on our honey moon in that car. Its been with me through all the bad and good times. My buddy died about ten years ago from cancer. He had a ser just like mine..both black both same options etc. When he died in 2000 his parents left me the car to restore....he was alot rougher on his then i. I had it all redone i mean everything. Even down to the rubber weatherstripping. On its way to the body shop i got hit by a woman on a cell that ran a redlight doing 60 in a 30. Combined with my speed, 35 mph, we hit with a combined force of 95 mph. The b13 is just a touch over 2000lbs and i got hit by a navigator. She hit me so hard she pushed the motor in the cabin with me and then her suv ramped over my car and crushed the roof in and the rear section.

Witnesses said it looked like a monster truck on tv doing a car crush. Im six foot three and anyone who has been in a b13 knows they can get a bit snug for my height. I was cut out with the jaws of life. I broke my shoulder, my knee, some ribs, crused 3 vertabrae and when the roof came in in cut my head open real bad. I was told i would never walk again but i do and without any kind of a limp. I beleive in a odd way my friend was watching over me in that car. Every EMT worker and police on teh scene thought i was dead. My first words at the hospital was :how is the car? Of couse it was beyond repair. I miss that car every day and i know how u feel about yours. My original b13 still stays with me...this is one of those bad times when my job has left the country...im laid off and lost my home and my 2 very pricey cars. My point is Rusty has been a part of you and i am glad you have the chance to rebuild him. I wish every day i could rebuild that sentra. My ole girl still takes me every where i need and at 210k on the clock she is waiting to be officially retired from daily driving use.

Long live Rusty and if you get a chance Mike watch the movie love the beast. Its about Eric Bana the actor who has had a car since he was 16 and built it up into a ridiculous race car. I wont spoil any of it just check it out
