They must have some rather lax rules out there at the SD autoX, I know that anyone that seemed to be intentionally drifting here at the ones I went to in Bedford got "reprimanded".....
That is awesome though
The instructor in charge of the SD autocrosses, the chief instructor, and I set a poor example (drifting) on how to drive the course. J/K
In all actuality though. Our goal is not to teach students to achieve the fastest times. Rather, we teach car control. Going faster is just a bi-product of car control.
For a fully lined auto-x course about a lane and a half wide the instructors who can slide rarely knock cones over.
