Aren't the oil pans on the A4 weak though? I'll get more pictures up when the car is cleaner, haven't washed it in like 3 months.. I'm gettin the monoblocks on them after i polish them. I'm running ST Coilovers btw and i got like half an inch to go before max low.
A4's are great cars to drive dumped. The awd makes it pretty hard to beach these things plus the 1.8t oilpan is pretty well protected by the front subframe. A skidplate just isn't needed, but what do I know.
We made a quick skidplate for my brothers a4 just for safety sake:
He actually hit a piece of curb that a plow truck must have snagged and pulled into the street and the skidplate shattered it. If he didn't have it then that would have been some pretty good damage.
skid plates just reduce clearance, they wont actually protect your pan from smashing in to pieces. if a bump is gonna smash your pan it will do it skidplate or not. it will help with snagging shit in the road but like stated before b5 pans are above or even with the subframe so theres no real danger to the pan
only people that can actually use a skid plate is vr6 and e30 owners whose pan sits below the subframe and even that doesnt protect from smashing it, its more of a so it doesnt wear through thing
