  • E39 540

So here's the E39 project of mine, by no means it is anything close to Pavel's infamous E39 when comes to stance, but I've stood by this car through high and low.

I originally bought this car back in early 2005, right after my uber mint Lexus G400 got totalled on the way to the shop to get lowered, the car started out as a standard 1999 E39 540i automatic with M package, I lowered it with some 19"s as soon as I got it.

Since I work at WP Pro, I HAD to put the brakes on, then I realize the car needs more work as well, so M-tech bumpers on it went, ACS roof spoiler, magnaflow exhaust, Ground control coilover and updated hella euro angel eyes and tails.

This is its 2nd set of wheels, M6 reps in 19"s, probably the worst quality wheels I've had.

Dude, your car is probably one of the most known E39's on the planet, along with felgenman's black M5.

After the M6 keep bending and cracking, I found a set of Hamann HM2's in staggered 19"s.

Thank you for starting to contribute more. We need some more of the old school euro crowd from BF.c to come over here. The guys that were into good fitment years ago when it would almost get you ran off that site.

Those brakes are a work of art. The car around them looks just as good.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

                Your blast pipes look stupid.

I think some peeps are just not that open to different things, they are the probably same folks think all Chinese food consists of is chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce, all Italian food is pizza and spaghetti with tomato sauce.

So last Spring, I had my 2nd Pirelli Pzero blew up on me on the high way, I do not know why I had such poor luck with the specific model, and I bought them brand new as well, to keep up with my annual tradition of new set of wheels, I bought the Varrstoen in 19"s, I know they are reps, but they tickled my fancy, also order Vredestein tires, almost all the rental cars I had rented in Holland had them, and even the normal ones on a Golf rental did well on the Nordschleif, so I decided to give them a try.

It was around this time I discovered significant amount of rust around the jack pads, and it seems to be a problem with E39's, so my friend who ran eurodesign fixed all the rust issue, and I decided it was time for new paint and various bits, I REALLY wanted something exotic, I was debating between either neon green from Porsche or the baby blue, both were available on either GT3RS or GT2RS, but I decided on Telesto Grey from Lambo, it also helped that someone I knew was working for Lambo at the time, the paint in material was only $400.

The wheels were flat black when I got them, got them clear coated while the car was in paint.

car sat around for a while waiting for the rear bumper.

After the paint job was done, the car was hauled to another friend's shop, this time its in for 6spd conversion as the old automatic was never my first choice, but at the time of the purchase, the 6spd was lot more expensive than the auto, they also did bunch of work on the engine, all the guides, chains, vanos transmissions, seals etc.

at the end, I had my 6spd.

And this is how the car looks now.

Its going in on Monday for new lifters and valve seals changes.
