  • Function > Form all day.

All summer i was really scrambling to make my car run, and finally things worked out when Guten Parts and Service took the car on as a last minute project to make it work. i rushed the engine install as it was done over my spring break so it was such a mess that i think they got sick of looking at it! It was definately a headache for everyone involved in making the car run.

The day before the event Denis Oreshkin and I had worked like madmen outside in a parking lot to get everything together, swapping fuel rails, injector harnesses, doing valve adjustments, and adjusting my clutch stop to make the car right.. it felt healthy and really composed so i went home to finish the cage with my crew and take it out for a test run.

Sadly, D-up 2011 was my car's breaking point. with everything that was rushed to make the car drive to the event, im just glad we made it. My crew was very professional and thorough, without them the car wouldnt have been done in time. The car would not break the rear tires loose no matter what i tried, and i had electrical gremlins and a sapped rocker that had brought my day to an eventual halt.

    to the crew:
Andrew Zenker, Greg Theile, Jimmy Oh and last but not least, Alan Velez; thanks for all the help yesterday, you dudes are definitely gonna get the first call at the next event. i wish i could have made it around the track without something going bad, but next event the car will be perfect. Thanks again dudes!!
Next event for me wont be till after may 14th, as its finals time. racing will take a nice lil break until i can sort everything out with my car and my grades and learn the car again.

over easter break the car will receive:

    new rocker eccentrics
    IE rocker arms
    new clutch
    power steering
    hydro e-brake
    m50 injectors

hopefully this will help me keep this thing semi reliable!

also im getting rid of these steelies, im sick of kids bugging me about their fitment.
kids, stay in school and get the priorities straight
    when we first rolled in:

attempted run(what a nice fence, oh and that e30 is pretty too)

    result:

After we recognized defeat, we cleaned up and had it towed via Triple A courtest of Jimmy O'Donnel.

i don't think anyone has ever said "too gaudy" and "steelies" in the same breath before

looks good though. love me some e30, and love me some track rat. put them together, and i get physically excited.

            Cool e30. Stance + functionality = greatness.

lol, the local euro and honda scene is killing me, kids bug me about my fitment and how much i want for them. these same kids have cars that have front head lights with cracks and missing chunks of fenders due to rust...

              thanks for the love though

thanks man! im more about the go than the show so stance, paint and flashy wheels are not big on my list.. it just happened that the car came out really clean after i finished it up.

they are great motors, but the m20 is cheap and easy to maintain. if i pop one i can find them for very cheap locally. thanks for your opinion though. i have a 9.7:1 m20b25 waiting for a rebuild in my garage.

my purple sfi rated padding was on back order. since i needed padding just to hold me through the event on short notice, i took a trip down to the local dirt speed shop and they only had 6 ft of purple padding available.
