  • Tourings get down......

My E36 328i and my cuz' E39 530i. Fitted coils to the E39 on Saturday but it's self levelling in the rear so you'll have to wait to see the adjusted pics.

    Cheers for looking.

Hey man it's 205/40 on the rear and 195/45 on the front, i used to run 205/40 all round but slimmed down the front to have a similar stretch front and rear with the staggered wheels. You on 17s yet?

                  Ah, thanks.

No, not yet, car is still taken apart and I'm still waiting on parts. I'm planning on either 205/40 or 215/35 for the fronts with 8.5x17s. The rear will get 225/35 on 9.5x17s. What coils do you run if you don't mind me asking?

Oh btw. I love your Touring.

If all goes planned, I'll be hitting up the UK in 2012 with my Touring. Make sure you keep it until then, I want to see it.

Thanks man, your plans sound good looking forward to seeing the execution. I will probably still have it then, the intention was not to keep it but i'm attached to it now! The coils are just budget items from the bay i bought for about £225. Def worth it though, suprisingly smooth ride quality and still plenty of damper travel at it's current height.

Couple more of the 5. It'll be getting the back down soon, large spacers and much smaller tyres too.

The E39 is on budgets too, my mate found them last Saturday, i ordered them on Monday, arrived on Wednesday and fitted yesterday lol. With it still having the normal profile tyres you wouldn't even know it was lowered when you drive it because it's still so smooth.

It's the stretch and small profile that makes the ride harsh more than budget coilovers, IMO.

yeah my Cuz had a 540i sport saloon previous but it had mega issues so he got rid and quickly snapped up the Touring. The 530i actually picks up better performance wise too but yeah get your dad talked into slammin his!
