  • Smokin the tires...

Finally got some wheels for the chariot! Most of you won't remember me or my intro thread, but I was working with some e38 style 5s for the winter. I promised the boards that I would come up with something for the summer, so here's what was scooped up for this season. Be nice, I'm broke... They're Mille Miglias, 17x8.5 ET15 with 18mm spacers all around wrapped in 215/45/17(F) and 235/45/17(R). Being ET-3 didn't seem to be playing all that well with un-rolled fenders, so we raised it up a half inch until some smaller spacers arrive in the mail. Stay tuned for a little more low in the near future...

Here's what she looked like before (one of the pix from intro thread...)

Hope you like it! (beware of droid pix, a shoot will come soon including some other local cars...)

Looking good Ted, that's the best application of those wheels I've seen yet. Don't get smaller spacers though, just roll the fenders better

please take a profile pic of the fronts? Ive been looking for pics of tires in this size on 8.5.

I wanna see how much sidewall/stretch ratio you have going.

                  PLEASE!

                  Thanks. Nice car btw.

Well, It's been a long time and changes have been made, so I figured I'd bump this here thread instead of start a new one with only a couple pics.
Being in an m30 car wasn't what I wanted, and even though my black car was amazing to me (never once failed; even when the HG popped a mile from my house, it got me home smoking and came back stronger than ever), I had been wanting 24v power and White for quite some time. Came May of this year, I bit on a '92 525i/5, Alpine/Ultramarine, ZF car. I drove it like this for most of the summer because I was working as a b*tch mechanic doing mostly oil changes and other simpler jobs. The desire to work on your own car after a day of handling other people's was gone at least in my case.

I finally mustered up the energy to swap everything over, and ran out of time at the end of the summer (left for Europe for a semester). Here's as far as I got.. Comments and Criticisms encouraged!

Plans aesthetically when I get home are fender work and possibly less offset, find a trunk with no spoiler, get the rear bumper, skirts from the 535 and M-Sport bumper I have in the attic color matched and on, shadowline, and a light tint all around. Hope you like it!

Personally, I preferred the old wheels but it looks great all the same
