Yeah man! Car looked awesome, I was telling my friend in the car how much I liked the height and look of your car and how you weren't driving like a douchebag

Yup, bought the car from Jon in Massapequa. You don't have any horror stories about the car do you?

Ah I don't think I will be, celebrating now that I'm finally home from work and then dropping the car off at Paul's so he can bring it into work for me and get the Haldex and tranny fluids finally changed

That's great to know haha. Jon didn't seem like the type who would beat on it and I'm not even sure how many owners the car has had before me (I'm guessing 3 before me unless the kid you knew was the original owner)

you HAVE to respect something like this on static, especially a VW. Bravo!

oh and seeing u had O.Z. Superleggera rims when u got the car, how did they handle? i know their forged and lightweight, i have a set available to me for $300 obo, 18x8. for my Oem+ daily, or course. should i go for them?

thats a weird off topic rant, but yeah tihs reminded me of the OZs lol

I'm doing a mostly red and smoked/black theme so I think the clear portions of Ocean tails wouldn't flow with the overall look

Figured someone would mention that eventually

It's actually not THAT slammed when compared to other MK4s that are static on 17s but I'm very happy with how it sits bc I can still enjoy driving it at this height. I think my CCWs weigh a little bit less than the OZs so it's hard to say, but they were good and $300 is a steal for 18x8s. I'm planning on selling mine for like $6-700 and they're far from perfect lol

that is DOPE man love everything about it, wheel color/finish/fitment, car color and all!

oh and those superleggeras ended up being 3 were 10 hole and 1 was 5 hole. the 5 hole was 5x120 so they wouldnt fit mine i could get the re-drilled for the price though...

So the car went though a couple of small changes in the past month. SoWo was fucking incredible and I had an incredible weekend that was worth the drive. I'll be back next year for sure

Pre-SoWo, we cleared the peeling clearcoat off the roof and got a gloss black grill and painted my emblems. Matte red looked 1000x better than peeling clear

After 14 hours of driving to SoWo, was met with a ridiculous 1/4 mile long gravel/monster pothole/crested driveway to our cabin in Helen. Wish I had gotten a picture, oh well

On Saturday, got the roof wrapped in gloss black. Very happy with how it turned out and how it looks

I managed to very slightly crack my oilpan on the drive home in Jersey somewhere. The skidplate helped throughout the trip, especially with the horrible driveway. Threw a MK3 12v steel pan on because the aluminum shit cracks way too easily. Otherwise, all is well and the car is an incredible road trip car. Got 27mpg on the way home and was doing 75-85ish the whole drive except for VA

The cars I cruised with and stayed with

Eric's MK3. Still on his winter setup, new wheels are being rebuilt

English Joe's S4. Called God's Thunder bc this car makes the most incredible sound ever, straight piped 4.2 V8 = sex

Aaron I didn't get to tell you while down there, just how much I like your car. I normally can't stand .:R bumpers, but something about the TR, black roof, the lip, it all goes together amazingly well. I am a huge fan.
