  • My R32. Just a place to dump all my new content

    SoWo content on pg 3

I've had the R32 for a little over a month now and things are slowly starting to come together. FK Silverline Plus X coilovers went in this week, replacing the Bilstein PSS9s that came with the car. After letting them settle a little bit, went with no locking collars on the rear perches and have about 1/2" of threads up front. Need to get an alignment and figure out the exact camber I want but can't complain about how it is now though

    How I bought it

For the CCWs, running a 10mm spacer in the back, final specs are 18x8.5 et10ish up front and 18x10 et18 rear with at least 2.5 degrees of camber. I wanted to wash the car this morning but it was 30 degrees and decided I didn't care enough

Very nice. Does you paint have any clearcoat problems? I know the tornado red r32 are known for that.

            Yup

The entire roof and 2 noticeable spots on the driver's side (front fender and above the rear window). Every panel has little spots now, the whole thing needs a respray eventually

That astounds me that VW won't pay for the damages. Every tornado red I see seems to have that happening. I also bought a mk4 r32 last summer and its getting shaved and fully re-painted DBP, should be finished in a few months. After that it'll be low and have ccw classics in the near future.

All in all the car looks amazing. I was a fan of your Jetta as well. Any other plans for the R in the near future?

Why would vw pay to repaint the car? Red gets thrashed by the sun. This is a well known fact.

                          Gorgeous!

If you have to ask people on an internet forum what you should do to your car, you should just leave it alone.

I see what your saying, but over 6 years you couldn't possibly expect it to be this bad (link below), almost all tornado red R's have issues with it. Heres a nightmare thread on vortex, it's ridiculous. This can't be the normal way all red cars paint wears.
